On January 1, roughly 2,000 brave souls kicked off 2018 with an invigorating dip in Vancouver’s English Bay. BC Hydro collaborated with the City of Vancouver to promote one of the largest and oldest Polar Bear Swims in the world. We spoke to hundreds of swimmers about new ways to cut back on energy use, including washing clothes in cold water. Veterans and first-timers said they were excited to take the plunge into cold water year-round, at least with their laundry. Are you taking the plunge in 2018?
