If you’ve driven on Vancouver Island, travelled through Metro Vancouver, north along the Sea to Sky Highway or east toward the Okanagan, you’ve probably noticed some of the 30 direct current (DC) fast-charging stations installed as the first phase of a BC Hydro pilot project.

With affordable and renewable electricity, B.C. is a great place to own an electric vehicle (EV). Our province strongly supports eco-friendly transportation choices for people who want to go electric. Thanks in part to the expansion of charging options – more than 1,000 public stations are now available – we’re expecting 300,000 EVs will be on B.C. streets by 2030.
